Looking at new over fenders atm...and i keep stumbling across some old favourites

Monster Tajima

Straight off Speedhunters but def worth putting up, been a big fan of Tajima now for at least the last 4-5yrs and have followed his racing of Pikes Peak. This video is definately up there in terms of the feel and quality......

Think F1 drivers are onto something when they rate rally car drivers above themselves (well schumacher does anyway, least he is half modest unlike Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton).

Things that i noticed...

- 4.04 - theres a corner on Pikes Peak called Grouse Hill, if you're an aussie you might get a laugh from that, i know i did (but i am a little strange).

- 6.45 - really does prove that Tajima is the king of this ant hill, thats a fairly fierce drop on the right hand side and he chews it up and spits it out quicker than that shithouse blackberry hubba bubba.

Probably over in that pine forest........but pay attention to the WRX in front of the forest. Its probably way too low for aus because you'll create a traffic jam at McDonalds drivethrough at 2am but it is fucking cool, especially with the pipe out the but. Only one thing could turn this thing from cool to plain rad.......your friendly neighbourhood anti lag.......firey, angry and very loud anti lag.

If i felt like driving something that was more likely to kill me rather than get me home in relatively similar shape to how i left.......i would rock one of these monsters.

Theres a reason why theres only one yank crazy enough to drift one of these dudes, here is one other dude who is probably sillier than making a camp fire in a space ship. Will most likely find out in the future this dude is either Ghostrider on a holiday from bikes or the actual real Stig who isn't the dude prancing around in a white jumpsuit.

Investigationing

Previous fears of mass mutilation with nibblers, grinders and oxys have now been squashed after closer observations concluded i was being a chick and getting worried about stupid little things when it turns out that its only had the arches oxyed........not the whole side of the car gutted like i had first though. These fears were fed because of the mass layering of fibreglass to smooth out the screwed in guards........i'm thinking massively excessive but it does still look pretty mad so who knows.

SOOOOOO the plan is to get this 1J in by the end of this weekend (friday night would be nice though) *Crosses fingers and toes and balls* and then probably track this beasty, give it a couple of flings and hope the 1J doesn't get hot and go pop then we'll pull the rear over fenders off and put some slightly more subtle ones one.

I really dig the rims that are currently on it but in order to keep things all legal down below i may yet have to lose these for the greater good......which really sucks because they look horn and the specs are pretty rad to boot try F - 18X9 -10 and R - 18X10 -10. Yeah i know......like i said pretty knarly for an S13.......anywho i may yet see what i can do to pull tight fitment on these and just run my rundown Buddyclub P1s most of the time...haven't really thought about that stage too much but with 50mm hanging off the bum its far from non-defectable and streetable, thinking 30mm might be the way to go.

Yep this the the newest addition to the family and hopefully the last. It does have a BN kit to match those lovely wide guards but its off because of height issues on the trailer......and also because i'm not a huge fan of BN stuff for S13s, spose its because its been done a gazillion times before.

Only gripe is the exact thing that i love about it.....those rear guards. A few years ago up here in queensland it seemed to be fairly common practice to cut the skin (outside metal) out to accommodate the wider fenders and then screw them in and glass the gap. This practice is not so prevalent now, with 'over fenders' becoming the done deal......though i rarely see kids up here running them for what i can only assume is to dodge defects given that pop rivets and the slapped on panel look can look cool...but more often than not looked tacked together in 2 secs flat. Its because of this reason that i'm not lieing when i say i have concerns......its a fucking rad car but i wonder how long it will stay on the street before the heat come down on it like a tonne of bricks........time will tell i spose......till then i will enjoy driving it as much as i can.

Anywho this sucker will be getting a rub back and put in a little more subtle colour to start with (feeling gunmetal). The drivers side is in much nicer shape than the passenger side as the bottom of one of the fenders has come loose, nothing some screws, fibreglass and a bit of paint won't fix.

Hit the city for my lovely mum's bday tonight and had it at a joint called Kabuki. Been there a couple times years ago but anyways the bill was something insane like $397 or round about that all up for four of us.......was seriously cool though. If a waitress called Yuki ever reads this add give me a shout, you were cute :P.

Dude wrote "Thank You :)" and "Happy Bday" once he had finished - very cool. Also the egg in the cup, they hurl it at you like something re-entering the earths atmosphere and you have to catch it in a cup without it breaking........because of my high level skill set i caught that shit like a ninja on fire.

Bliss n Eso concert went off last night, atmosphere was fucking incredible. Not much of a jumper unless i'm boozed (sadly not) but definately the best live act i've seen aside from Fort Minor. Doing Soundwave in Feb and Queens Of The Stone Age will be there.......pretty much the raddest band on the planet so expecting mind warping shit from these guys.

Concert tomorrow night, got tickets should be pretty interesting - haven't been a massive hip hop/rap sorta guy outside of the old vibes sounds like Del but last two albums have been pretty rad so i'll report back.

Refurb

It was time for one, my old blog mattio123.blogspot is no more as its a reminder of pretty much all of the poo moments and more or less none of the cool ones so it got thrown on the medivac with mortal wounds.......legs blown off and all that jazz, never to be seen again........

I'll put down a quick revamp, it'll be brief because i'm even over talking about it at this stage.

So i still have two S13s downstairs, neither of which will be around much longer (cross fingers) as the devo news about the new, spiffy shell (compliance shite) was just enough to push me over the edge and more or less decided that i was better off cutting my loses. Not to mention the already strained love affair with S13s having worn down pretty hardcore due to the constant problems and large amounts of docking (two dudes joining swords, like super saiyan but more adult......learn something new every day huh).

Anywho welcome to my new, improved, wizz bang blog and i promise the stay this time will be a little more positive :D.
